By placing it in the right period, you can target specific species. If you place the nisthilfe late, at the end of April/beginning of May, the chance is increased that it is still free when the spotted flycatchers start breeding.
The nisthilfe can be placed anywhere. Placement in open areas is better for the white wagtail and placement in tree-rich gardens or at forest edges is better for the spotted flycatcher.
Due to the large entrance opening, it is extremely important to hang the nest box out of reach of cats in a well-thought-out manner.
MAINTENANCE
In autumn, the nisthilfe is cleaned.
