Company vision

Sustainable working methods for a sustainable living environment.

In line with working in an ecologically responsible manner, Ecovery always opts for sustainability. The right material choice is of the utmost importance here. Materials with a long lifespan are chosen, which are manufactured in an environmentally conscious manner in Belgium or, if this is not possible, in Europe. The choice for materials produced in our own country contributes to a reduced emission through transport and at the same time stimulates the growth of the local market.

As a wood type, larch is used for nest boxes. Unlike multiplex boards that are often used for nest boxes, larch planks are not glued. This wood type can essentially be used pure natural and untreated and has a natural resistance to rot and various fungi. The density ensures that larch is more resistant to deformation, warping and shrinking under varying wet and dry conditions.
Ecovery consciously chooses planks with a thickness of 20-25mm. This thickness provides good insulation for the boxes. Thus, in nest boxes at cold temperatures it will not cool down too much and will not overheat quickly at high temperatures. Additionally, thick wood simply has a longer lifespan than thin wood.
