We placed an eco-grid with badger grids and badger gates along the Brusselbaan near Aalst, between Erembodegem and Affligem. The fencing ensures that no wildlife ends up on the road. This grid is made of galvanized steel with robinia posts with an amphibian wall at the bottom. At the customer's request, a gate was also provided in the eco-grid, which is also equipped with an amphibian wall and grid.
A badger grid ensures that there is still a passage for vehicles, but that badgers do not walk over the grid. The badger gates ensure that various animal species that have ended up on the side of the road find their way back behind the eco-grid. The animals walk along the grid. There is a transverse fence at the badger gate, so that animals are guided through the gate. The gate can be opened from one side via a hatch, but animals cannot pass through towards the road.
