To promote the development of Water soldier in the Rupelmondse creek, Agentschap Natuur en Bos opted for the placement of water cages. Water soldier is an important but rare oxygen plant that is beneficial for water quality.
Among others, coots and fish like to eat from the plant. By protecting the plants with a large water cage, the chance is much greater that the plant can develop.
