Description
The robust device works with an SD card and 8 AA batteries. The BatLure is suitable for:
- Attracting bats using social or echolocation sounds to capture them for research purposes with a mist net or harp trap;
- Drawing bats' attention to a potential habitat to increase the colonization rate of new habitats, for example: at bat boxes, newly established winter habitats, and new summer and maternity roosts;
- Playing bat sounds in the context of training and bat detector training;
- Testing the proper functioning of bat detectors and recording systems;
- Inventory of mating habitats by playing the yard call of courting males and listening for the response of the territorial males.
The device is compact and solidly built, equipped with a suspension eye and tripod thread to place it on a tripod. The BatLure is powered by the internal batteries (8 AA batteries) or via an external cable (included) (input 12 V).
