Description
Lightweight and robust carbon design
The legs and center column are made from multi-layered carbon fiber, which provides an optimal balance between low weight, high stiffness and vibration damping. The tripod weighs approximately 1.95 kg, but can still support a maximum load capacity of 15 kg . This makes it suitable for cameras with heavier lenses without compromising stability.
The triangular center column increases torsional rigidity and ensures that the tripod remains relatively compact when folded.
Water- and dustproof for intensive outdoor use
The waterproof twist-locks (WPS) close the leg sections against water, sand and dust. This makes the Sirui ST-224 especially suitable for use in wet, muddy or dusty environments, such as forests, heathlands, coastal areas and mountainous terrain — precisely the conditions in which nature photographers often work.
Stable on any surface
From the leg ends, a metal pin (spike) can be screwed out, allowing the tripod to stand firmly on soft surfaces such as grass, sand, mud, or snow. With the rubber feet screwed in, the tripod is suitable for hard surfaces such as rocks and asphalt. This way, the tripod remains stable on virtually any terrain.
The 4-section legs are independently adjustable, allowing for flexible setup, even on uneven terrain.
Flexible use and low shooting positions
The removable and reversible center column allows for working from low shooting positions, which is particularly useful for nature photography close to the ground. Thanks to the quick release, the center column can be easily removed for a lighter and extra stable setup.
VH-10 fluid head with extendable handle
The included Sirui VH-10 fluid head offers smooth and controlled movements, ideal for precise framing in photography and for smooth movements in video.
- 360° pan movement
- Tilt range of -70° to +90°
- Load capacity of the head: up to 6 kg
- Extendable handle, mountable on the left or right
- Arca-type VP-90 quick release plate with safety pin
Use with binoculars and scopes
- Suitable for binoculars (with tripod adapter)
- Less suitable for spotting scopes, due to the standard working height and photographic focus
For those who mainly work with scopes or observe for extended periods at higher altitudes, we recommend a specific observation tripod .
Ideal for
- Nature photography
- Landscape and travel photography
- Photographers who often work in wet or rough terrain
Occasional use with binoculars
