Ecovery 's nest wheel was created after a study in the Spanish Pyrenees. Wheels were placed in capped conifers that formed the nest base for the black vulture and snake eagle. The nest wheel is a steel galvanized wheel with an inner and outer ring. It is available in different diameters depending on the intended species. In the Benelux the small wheel can serve as a nesting base for osprey and who knows, maybe one day the short-toed snake eagle. The large wheel is used by the white-tailed eagle.

Description

Because these nests cannot be placed just anywhere and the birds have specific requirements for their territory, our expert is happy to visit you on site to check the suitability of the tree and the chosen location. Ecovery places the nests in dead or ringed trees. Our tree surgeon cuts the tree to size and installs the wheel. The nest base is woven with branches around the spokes, increasing its height and width. When installation an osprey, a branch is saved that serves as a vantage point for adult birds. White water-based paint is applied to the upper branches. This gives the birds the illusion that they are passing an abandoned nest with old droppings.

PLACEMENT
On dead or ringed trees. Hanging height as high as possible depending on the chosen tree.

MAINTENANCE
