Description
The fact that barn owls have been doing better in recent years has a lot to do with the installation and follow-up of these custom-made nest boxes. Because barn owls do not make their own nests but simply breed on flat surfaces, they are often found in church towers and barns. For the barn owl, no less than half of all nest boxes are occupied.
The nest box has the necessary chambers.
The roof is completely removable for easy cleaning of the nest box. If the nest box is occupied, be sure to notify Kerkuilwerkgroep Vlaanderen (www.kerkuilwerkgroepvlaanderen.be).
PLACEMENT
The nest box is hung indoors in a dark and wind-protected place. This can be done, for example, in an old barn, tower, attic or stable. Hang the cupboard as high as possible in the ridge.
MAINTENANCE
It is recommended to clean the cabinet in December. It is important to remove any material remaining in the hive, such as prey remains.
