Description
Nest boxes for common swift are being used more and more often. Due to renovations and far-reaching insulation, nesting opportunities that were widely available until a few years ago are disappearing. Tiles, eaves and cavity walls become more inaccessible for nest building and this is reflected in the number of common swift . Installing a common swift enclosure is therefore paying off.
This species is mainly found in urbanized areas and makes its nest as high as possible on buildings.
PLACEMENT
It is hung with the custom-made entrance hole to the north or east side at a minimum height of 4 m.
MAINTENANCE
The nest box is best cleaned after the breeding season (Oct - Dec).
