Description
These shelters are mainly used in horticulture or in vegetable gardens as biological control against aphids and codling moth eggs. Earwigs eat large quantities of aphids every day.
Earwigs are also on the menu of most birds . In this way, the pots actually benefit a large part of the fauna chain at the location.
PLACEMENT:
On a branch or hanging from a tree near plants with aphids.
The house is filled with leaves or straw. It is advisable to first place the nest filled on the ground for a few days. This means they are occupied more quickly and are already in use once they have been installed effectively. With an earwig pot, make sure that the straw coming out of the pot touches the branches of the plants with aphids.
