Description

Insect hotels come in many shapes and sizes. Placing an insect hotel has a very positive impact on the ecosystem in the environment. It gives a boost to insect life in your garden, attracting more birds and ensuring that many crops, including fruit and vegetables, are well pollinated. The wild flora is also well pollinated in this way.

PLACEMENT
An insect hotel is best placed so that the entrance holeand be southeast- or south-facing, in full sun. Southwest oriëntation should be avoided to prevent rain. Furthermore, a wind‑sheltered location is preferred, so if possible protect against strong wind.

It is essential that the box is placed near, preferably native, flowering plants. We refer to these as nectar plants, plants that can provide nectar and pollen as food. Finally, it's also best to have water nearby.
