Description
With a entrance hole of 28 mm, the box can be occupied by the blue tit or coal tit.
If the nest box is placed in an area where squirrels and/or woodpeckers are present, it is also advisable to provide a protective plate. In this way, attackers cannot enlarge the opening to steal eggs.
INSTALLATION
Titmice do not like high temperatures, so do not hang the nest box in direct sunlight. The direction is not of utmost importance, but in open areas it's best to have the opening facing east. Titmice are often victims of cats, so it's best to hang the nest box at a height of at least 2 meters. You can also optionally provide a marten/cat ring for protection.
Different titmouse nest boxes should be hung at least 30m apart.
MAINTENANCE
It is recommended to clean this box annually in winter.
