Description
The woodpecker most commonly found in this nesting box is the Great Spotted Woodpecker. With a bit of luck, it's also possible to encounter the Green Woodpecker and the Middle Spotted Woodpecker . The nesting box distinguishes itself from others with its thickened front hatch and thickened hollow bottom.
The front is clad with a tree trunk. This mimics the natural situation as closely as possible without compromising the lifespan of the nesting box.
INSTALLATION
The box is hung at a minimum height of 3 meters, out of the wind, rain and in a shaded area. It is most successful in forests and densely wooded parks. When installing, a layer of sawdust is applied to the bottom.
MAINTENANCE
Clean annually in winter and replace the sawdust.
