Description
The nest box for the treecreeper and nuthatch differs from other nest boxes in that the opening is not a entrance hole but a crawl opening. By cutting it diagonally at the back, it is flush with the trunk of the tree. This makes it more attractive to treecreepers that climb against the tree in search of nesting sites.
Furthermore, the box has a narrowed floor that ensures it is less quickly occupied by other birds.
It can also be occupied by nuthatch.
INSTALLATION
On tree trunks at a minimum height of 2 meters. The opening is directed north or east to prevent rain from entering.
MAINTENANCE
It is recommended to clean this box annually in winter.
