Description
The cabinet has a back so that it can also be installed on smooth walls. A mortar layer has been applied to the approach board to increase grip in the cabinet. A layer of mortar increases the robust feel of the box and imitates the conditions found in building cavities, where bats like to roost.
PLACEMENT
Place the cabinet at a minimum height of 3 meters, but preferably as high as possible on a building. Do not place the cabinet near a window or lamppost. Preferably give the cabinet a sunny position. Bat boxes are usually discovered most quickly if they are placed near an existing flight path. Suitable positions for bat boxes are positions just under eaves. If you hang the cupboards in the context of compensation or mitigation, the guideline should be that for every disappearing place of residence, 4 replacement places should be hung.
Assembly:
1. Mark the positions of the holes of the cabinet on the outer wall
2. Drill holes with a masonry drill (5 mm) in the outer wall (not in the joints)
3. Mount the cabinet using screws (the use of plugs is not necessary). Do not tighten the screw too hard to ensure grip.
