Description
The nest wheel is made of galvanized steel in combination with wickerwork of willow branches. For the pole, the wood type Cloeziana is used. This tree species has durability class 1, the heartwood is still good after more than 25 years in contact with the ground.
INSTALLATION
The nest is placed on a single pole that can stand on its own without additional support poles. The foundation consists of rapid-setting concrete. This immediately reduces the space occupied by the total construction. We dig the trunk about 3 m deep into the ground (pole of 11 m), the foundation consists of rapid-setting concrete.
DURABILITY
The nest wheel is galvanized for a long lifespan. At the level of the contact point between ground and air, we burn off the top layer of the wooden pole. This point is most sensitive to wood rot. This technique ensures a carbon layer on the wood, which makes the wood durable in an ecological way.
