Description
That barn owls have been doing better in recent years has a lot to do with the placement and follow-up of these custom-made nesting boxes. Because barn owls do not build nests themselves, but simply breed on flat surfaces, they are often found in church towers and barns. For the barn owl, as much as half of all nesting boxes are occupied.
The box is equipped with the necessary chambers. The roof is completely removable so that the box can be easily cleaned.
If the nesting box is inhabited, please give a signal to Kerkuilwerkgroep Vlaanderen (www.kerkuilwerkgroepvlaanderen.be)
INSTALLATION
The nesting box is hung inside on a dark and sheltered from the wind spot. This can be, for example, in an old barn, tower, attic or stable. Hang the box as high as possible in the roof ridge.
MAINTENANCE
It is recommended to clean the box in December. It is essential to remove all material left behind in the box, such as prey remains.
