Description
The box is provided with a back panel, allowing it to be mounted on smooth walls. On the landing board, a mortar layer is applied to increase the grip inside the box. A mortar layer enhances the robust feel of the box and imitates the conditions found in cavity walls of buildings, where bats like to roost.
INSTALLATION
Place the box at a minimum height of 3 meters, but preferably as high as possible on a building. Do not place the box near a window or a street lamp. Preferably give the box a sunny position. Bat boxes are usually discovered the fastest when placed near an existing flight route. Suitable positions for bat boxes are positions just below roof edges. If you hang the boxes as part of compensation or mitigation, you should adhere to the guideline that for every disappearing residence, 4 replacement residences should be hung.
Assembly:
1. Mark the positions of the holes in the cabinet on the exterior wall
2. Drill holes with a masonry drill (5 mm) in the exterior wall (not in the joints)
3. Mount the cabinet using screws (the use of plugs is not necessary). Do not tighten screws too hard due to grip.
