Description
Bats mainly use landscape elements such as rows of trees and hedgerows for their flight path and often avoid open areas. The flight path is disrupted on wide roads. A hop over is a bat passage that ensures that bats continue to fly at the correct height when crossing the road, so that bats are not hit by passing vehicles. If open spaces are too large, the flight route can be maintained by placing multiple hopovers.
The construction consists of a galvanized metal pole with a shape with a surface of +/- 2 m² in Corten steel . The piles have a total height of 5-6 m.
A pedestal is welded to the bottom of the post, which makes it possible to attach it to a concrete base. The base plate is bolted to threaded rods that are cast into the concrete base.
