Description
The house swallow has to further finish these bowls with sand and saliva to turn them into a full-fledged breeding nest.
It is best to hang several nesting bowls, house martins like to breed in colonies.
PLACEMENT:
Choose a location at a maximum of 25 meters from an existing house martin nest, so there is the greatest chance that the nest will actually be occupied. The bowls are best placed under an overhanging roof / roof overhang, preferably on the shady east or northeast side.
Place the bowls in a location where they can remain for years, house martin and return to their nest location every year.
MAINTENANCE:
You can unscrew the planks to clean the nest bowls, it is best to do this from October onwards.
Placing a manure board under the nest bowl prevents nuisance caused by droppings.
