Description
With an entrance hole of 28 mm, the box can be occupied by the blue tit or black tit.
If the nest box is placed in an area where squirrels and/or woodpeckers live, it is best to provide a protective plate. This way, attackers cannot make the opening larger to steal eggs from the birds .
PLACEMENT
Tits do not like temperatures that are high, so don't hang the nest box in the direct sun.
The orientation of placement is not of utmost importance, but in open areas it is best to place the entrance to the east. Tits are often the victims of cats, so it's best to hang the box at a height of at least 2m. You can also provide a marten or cat belt for protection. When you place more than 1 tit box it's best to place them 30m apart.
MAINTENANCE
Recommended to clean the nest box annually during winter.
