This half-open nesting box can be used by several species. It is mainly used by the White Wagtail, Robin and Spotted Flycatcher.

Species such as the Blackbird, Black Redstart and Wren will also occasionally use the nesting box. So there is a good chance that the nesting box will be inhabited.

INSTALLATION
By placing in the right period, you can target specific species. If you place the nest box late, at the end of April/beginning of May, the chance is increased that it is still free when the spotted flycatchers start breeding.
The nest box can be placed anywhere. Placement in open areas is better for the white wagtail and placement in gardens with many trees or at forest edges is better for the spotted flycatcher.
Due to the large entrance hole , it is extremely important to hang the box in a thoughtful way out of reach of cats.

MAINTENANCE
In autumn, the nest box is cleaned.
