Description

This common swiftbox is specially designed for the mitigation of common swifthabitats. The boxes can be placed both clustered and solitary. This common swiftbox is also popular with house sparrow as a habitat.

PLACEMENT
In the design, specific attention was paid to the depth of the box. Due to the shallow depth, the box can also be well incorporated into façades of houses from the years ’50 and ’60 with often limited cavity space. The common swiftbox is equipped with an inspection hatch. Through the inspection hatch the box can be cleaned. In addition to placement in masonry, the box can also be hung on façades. When placed on façades, the box can be positioned using two bolts through the back of the box.

Installation plan for installation in existing masonry:
1. make a marking on the outer wall to the size of the built-in box + the width of a joint
2. remove the marked part from the wall and place the box.
3. adjust the box using shims. Then secure the box using expanding foam and then finish the box.

Installation options:
1. Installation in existing masonry: for deep nest boxes, allow it to protrude slightly from the wall.Minimum 20mm PIR behind the nest box.Do not place the box against the insulation.
2. Flush with masonry: keep the box free of insulation.
3. Completely behind masonry: keep the box free of insulation.Mounting with corner anchors.Leave the stone a little wider than the entrance hole. The built-in box can be finished with stone strips or stucco.
