Description
Nesting boxes for common swift are being used more and more frequently. Due to renovations and extensive insulation, nesting facilities that were still abundantly available until a few years ago are disappearing. Roof tiles, roof edges and cavity walls are becoming less accessible for nest building and this is reflected in the number of common swift. The placement of a common swift box also bears fruit.
This species is mainly found in urban areas and makes its nest as high as possible on buildings.
INSTALLATION
It is hung with the custom-made entrance hole to the north or east side at a minimum height of 4 meters.
MAINTENANCE
The nest box should be cleaned preferably after the breeding season (Oct – Dec).
