Description
The nest box for the stone marten has a separate nursery and bedroom. It is placed in the absence of sufficient old trees with suitable large nesting cavities.
INSTALLATION
For the stone marten, the nest box should be placed on the ground. The ideal biotope is mature mixed forests or coniferous forests, not too close to open areas.
MAINTENANCE
The nest box is used to raise young, but also as a hiding place in bad weather and as a resting place during the day. Therefore, it is difficult to choose a suitable moment to clean the nest box. The best period is in September or October, but always check whether there are no martens present.
