Description
Insect hotels come in many shapes and sizes, providing shelter for numerous beneficial insects. This small variant is aimed at solitary bees.
Installing an insect hotel can have a very positive impact on the ecosystem in your area. It boosts insect life in your garden, attracting more birds and ensuring that many crops, including fruit and vegetables, are well pollinated. Wild flora is also well pollinated this way.
The holes in our insect hotels have a size of 2 – 9 mm.
INSTALLATION
An insect hotel is best placed in such a way that the entrance hole faces southeast or south, in full sun. Southwest orientation should be avoided to avoid rain impact. Furthermore, a wind-free location is preferred, so that it can be sheltered from strong winds.
It is essential that it is placed near flowering plants, preferably native ones, we are talking about gestation plants here, i.e. plants that can offer nectar and pollen as food. It is recommended that there is water nearby.
